We will continue with our Personal Narratives.  We will be typing and starting our publishing this week.  I will meet with each of you this week.  We are going to review your writing.   We will continue our fiction unit this week in reading.  You will have a project based on on your favorite character you are currently reading.  We will learn all about the traits of a story too!  In math we will continue our work on multiplication! I bought everything needed for our ornaments to sell for the fleece blankets!  Friday we will be building our ornaments.  :)  A news reporter maybe coming in.  Lets have a great day tomorrow!

You earned your 3 letters for your next party!  Lets keep it up boys and girls.  Mrs. Susag will be here at 1:40- 2:20.  We will have recess after for 15 minutes.     We have a class meeting today after last recess. 

Aspirations: This week we  are working on Curiosity and Creativity!!!!  Having an active imagination and asking questions! Curiosity has us asking, "Why?" Creativity has us asking, "Why not?"

Ask those questions!!!!  Its important!

Welcome back!  I hope your Monday was a great start to the week.    I believe we have so many kind hearted community members in our classroom.  I am so lucky to have you all in our community!  Keep being kind to each other it really does make everything that much better for us all.  We have a guest speaker tomorrow that is one of my good friends.  I know you all will welcome her and show her your best.  We will not have science or social studies tomorrow.  We will have extra writing time though.  :) Lets get our write on writers!  We will be continuing to look at inferring with our reading.  Math will consist of moving on with our adding, subtracting and place value!  Keep up the hard work mathematicians.  Fill someone's bucket today!  Lets have a wonderful day together tomorrow!

Good Afternoon!

I hope your first day has been awesome!


What is Ethos you might ask?

Ethos is a Greek word meaning "character" that is used to describe the guiding beliefs or ideals that characterize a community, nation, or ideology.

Morning Ethos allows our classroom to set a positive tone for the day, to learn of recent student accomplishments, to hear announcements, to start the day with an inspirational message, to present a common and unified message, and to experience a sense of community.  The experiences that we will share in Ethos are lessons in empathy and compassion.  Through Ethos, our class will see powerful messages to help us open our eyes to the different challenges that we face. We will applaud the successes  that our classmates have sports teams and clubs in and out of school, we will celebrate birthdays, we will mourn losses whether to our community or the outside world, and we will share our viewpoints.  We will study the 8 Student Aspirations (Belonging, Heroes  Curiosity & Creativity, Spirit of Adventure, Sense of Accomplishment, Leadership and Responsibility, Fun and Excitement and Confidence to take Action)  throughout the year via our Morning Ethos.
