"We Love to Read" Month

Quote of the Day:  Happy "We Love to Read" Month

Announcements:

We are beginning the wonderful month full of reading adventures and fun activities!  Today's "I Love to Read Month" is create a book cover on our door!  Maybe we could do Tiger Rising or Wonder?  It needs to be a book we have all read!  Please make sure to check out a great fiction book that you can't wait to sink your eyes into!  

We will begin our study in Ethos of Random Acts of Kindness Month today.  We will learn about the movement throughout the month.  I can't wait to see what random acts of kindness you choose to use today!

Definition: It is kindness that comes in many different shapes and sizes – and it is free.  You do it without expecting something from someone else!

We have H.E. today from 9:45-10:30.  We are working on so many fun things.  We will continue to be reading detectives as we close read about who MLK was.  We will work on finding character traits.  As writers, we will explore more about what a strong introduction looks and reads like.  We have a check point in math workshop.  We are going to celebrate what you have learned or expanded on so far in unit 3.  We have social studies today as Mr. Wild's class will be gone to Crosscut today.  I can't wait to begin our day together!  We are going to set goals as a class today and begin working on accomplishing them.

We will visit character traits again.  We will finish our character study next week.  We will be doing our first thinking writing on MLK.  I will be meeting with kiddos for fluency checks this week too, you will need your computer for this.   As writer's we will be finishing our events today.  You are an amazing group of individuals, I am so happy to spend my days with you!
