 Lets have a great day!  You are all such skilled learners and I know that you have so much to offer our community and the world.  We have a lot of learning to do in the next 2 months.  We will continue to study nonfiction text structures.  We will continue our work for the Heart of the Valley in math.  We research our topics for our nonfiction writing, but we have to finish our sugar over load essays.  The last part of the day we will continue building our fluency in math skills.

We have H.E. today from 9:45-10:30  We will practice determining the main idea again.  We will continue to learn fractions on a number line.  In writing we continue to write our reason paragraphs. We had library today.  We will have MOSS coming into do a lesson on your watershed.  This information will be needed for our fish letters to F.W.P.  We will have a walking field trip to the ponds for water testing tomorrow at 1:30pm.  Please wear the gear.  Shoes that can getting muddy and layers would be good.  

We will continue to learn about nonfiction structures.  In math we will be focusing on fractions and number lines.  There will not be writer's workshop today.  We will continue to dive deep into the Industrial Revolution.  Lets have a spectacular day!

Announcements:  We have a very busy day!  We have a concert at 9:15am today.  You will have P.E. after.    We will work on text structure in nonfiction for the next 2-3 weeks.  We will begin a poetry study after that.  As writers we are beginning our new opinion writing.  We will continue to dive into fractions as mathematicians.   Wow!!!  Hold on tight and be the best you can be!  Lets get our learning on!

Welcome Back!  I hope you had memory  making adventures.  I sure missed you!

I hope you are ready to get to work, grow your brain and make a difference in our community!

You did an amazing job on our field trip yesterday!

We will continue to learn about the structures of nonfiction reading.  We will begin our research writing unit in 1 week!  We will begin our Sugar ELA Summative Assessment for the district at the end of the week.  What fun lies ahead.  As mathematicians, we are going to start working with more fractions this week. We have a big couple of weeks a head of us.  We have have MOSS visiting us next Monday and Tuesday.  Monday the will come into our classrooms for 1 hr and then on Tuesday we will be taking a walking field trip to the pond to begin our study for our fish.  We will then be going every two weeks to test and field journal.  Your findings will be shared by you with a letter to F.W.P informing them of the water conditions and releasing our fish.  We will be learning to fly fish and tie flies at the end of May.  We have Shakespeare in the Park coming to perform a play next week and will be coming in for a classroom training too.  

  I am so excited that we are refreshed and ready to get some learning in for the rest of the year!

We are going to try some new games for leadership this week too!

How excited are you for that?  We have a fun project with our kinder pals tomorrow too!
